DIALOG Waste Management MV 2026 – Shaping the Future of the Circular Economy Together
It’s that time of year again: The DIALOG Waste Management conference is taking place for the 22nd time at the – and we at are delighted to be co-hosting the event once more.
Together with the University of Rostock and the (LUNG), we bring together experts from industry, academia, and government every two years.
What can you expect? The event addresses current and practice-relevant topics in waste and circular economy and is structured into three main thematic blocks:
➡️ Current developments in the circular economy With insights from, among others, Minister Dr. Till Backhaus of the SPD Citizens’ Office and Christina Dornack on topics such as resource conservation, sufficiency, and policy direction, as well as the municipal obligation to collect used textiles separately.
➡️ Landfilling of Waste Discussions regarding landfill sites, climate checks, quality standards, and future prospects.
➡️ TA Luft & AwSV in practice The focus is on the legal requirements for waste disposal facilities and their concrete implementation—a topic of high relevance for operators and authorities.
Closing highlight: A panel discussion on the question: Will the implementation of TA Luft and AwSV lead to the phasing out of power plants—or are there viable alternatives?
The day will be led by Prof. Dr. Michael Nelles (University of Rostock), Martina Ocik (LM MV), and Frank Zörner (enviMV), supported by leading experts from business, academia, and government.
