Technology transfer in the region
In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the network regularly organises specialist conferences and events in cooperation with associations, universities and societies, which are important for the environmental sector and promote an intensive exchange of specialist knowledge.
9th Forum Power Plants 2025
The 9th Power Plant Forum will take place on September 11–12, 2025, in Schwerin/Crivitz, continuing the established series of events on the energy transition in northern Germany.
The focus will be on innovative approaches to sustainable energy supply, with a particular emphasis on the heat transition, green gases, grid infrastructure, and regulatory developments.
A total of nine specialist presentations are planned, which will examine various aspects of energy generation and distribution. Practical examples from Schwerin, Stralsund, and Anklam will show how technological diversity at the local level is contributing to the implementation of ambitious climate targets. In addition, the current framework conditions will be presented, for example, the funding landscape for heating projects and the further development of the Climate Protection Act in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The conference will begin with an excursion on the first day: participants can choose between a tour of the geothermal plant in Schwerin-Lankow or the energy site in Schwerin-Süd. Both tours will be conducted by Schwerin's municipal utilities and offer exciting insights into the practical implementation of modern energy projects.
This year, Diana Schröter will be moderating the event for the first time. The forum offers a platform for professional exchange, regional networking, and new ideas for practical application.
All further information on the program, content, and registration can be found in the attached event brochure.
Registration is open until August 15, 2025.

The main topics will be power plant projects that have already been completed or are currently under construction in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The focus will be on energy generation from primarily renewable sources. Nine technical presentations are planned for this purpose. The event will begin with a tour of the mono sewage sludge incineration plant in Stavenhagen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
