New member of the enviMV network: The Grinol GmbH!

Energy transition, heat transition, climate protection – the major challenges of our time are complex and multifaceted. This makes smart and practical solutions all the more important.

This is precisely where Grinol GmbH, our new member of the enviMV environmental technology network, comes in.

The young green tech company from the field of bioenergy and circular economy, based in Murchin in the district of Vorpommern Greifswald, pursues a clear approach:

small, decentralised and intelligent solutions instead of large, cumbersome structures.

With its patented Bio Activated Fuel (BAF) technology, Grinol has developed a market-ready solution that rethinks circular economy and energy production.

The process enables the oilification of a wide variety of biogenic residues – such as fermentation residues, manure or sewage sludge – in combination with glycerine or even plastic waste. The two-stage process overcomes typical problems associated with conventional pyrolysis methods, such as high acidity or low calorific value. The result: a high-quality, CO₂-neutral fuel as an alternative to fossil fuels.

The first large-scale commercial plant for processing sewage sludge in combination with glycerine is currently in the planning stage. With an annual capacity of around 5,500 tonnes of sewage sludge, the plant is expected to produce around 2.2 million litres of biofuel – a second-generation biofuel that can supplement fossil diesel, serve as a CO₂-neutral heating alternative or be used in combined heat and power plants (CHP) for simultaneous electricity and heat generation.

We warmly welcome Grinol to the enviMV network – together we are driving forward the transformation to sustainable technologies.
